Srinagar, Jun 17 (KNO): In a first, a premium consignment of cherries from Jammu and Kashmir has successfully made its way to Saudi Arabia, marking a new milestone in agricultural exports from the Union Territory.
As per the Embassy of India in Riyadh, the cherries are now available for consumers in the Kingdom to enjoy.
According to the details collected by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the embassy’s commercial team, visited Lulu Supermarket in Riyadh, Saudhi Arabia to receive and officially launch the consignment.
The Embassy also shared the development through its official handle, stating that this unique product highlights the growing export potential of Indian produce in global markets, especially high-quality fruits from Jammu and Kashmir.
Moreover, the Embassy also shared on Twitter (formerly), X wrote, the first ever consignment of premium cherries from Kashmir has arrived in the Kingdom Saudi Arabia.
“Cherries from Jammu & Kashmir arrive in Saudi Arabia! The first ever consignment of premium cherries from Jammu & Kashmir has arrived in the Kingdom & are available to be savored by all. Embassy Commercial team led by Counsellor (Commerce) Ms Manusmriti visited the Lulu Supermarket and received the consignment and launched this unique product,” reads the tweet—(KNO)
